Party Catering FAQ’s

  • When should I book catering services for my party?
Booking party catering services is recommended to be done as early as possible. Well known Party caterers can get booked up months in advance so its best to confirm the booking as soon as possible.
  • How do I decide a menu for my party catering?
Party caterers will be able to assist you in finalising a menu once guest numbers and budget are confirmed. Remember that they have the experience in the field and no one knows your guests better than you so the combination of two areas of expertise should result in a perfect menu which will delight guests.
  • Will I get pricing immediately?
A quote should be given to you over the phone as long as the party caterer has all the required details. Written quotes can be requested. There may be short delay with a quote if seasonal items are requested or other catering services such as staffing and crockery hire.
  • Do party caterers provide food service equipment?
Catering for parties comes hand in hand with the provision of food service equipment. The party caterer should be able to give a quote for food and supplying the tableware and chaffing units or food warmers. Party catering companies have first hand knowledge of the equipment required so leaving the responsibility to them will ensure no hiccups on the day. There may well be extra hire charges for certain equipment , these should be quoted in writing prior to confirmation.
  • What kind of kitchen equipment will be needed?
Catering for parties at a residence will call for a mobile kitchen fully equipped with cooking and heating facilities, refrigeration, running water, light and electricity. If the venue has a kitchen, the party caterer should check all the facilities and ensure that the equipment can be used. If extra items such as turbo ovens or hotplates need to be hired, the catering service provider should inform you prior to booking.
  • Is there a clear up charge?
Reputable party caterers will leave a venue the way in which they found it. Professional party caterers will ensure that all rubbish is disposed of and any equipment used is left clean and in working order. There shouldn’t be a clear-up charge unless the rubbish cannot be left on-site and has to be transported away from the venue to the caterers’ premises.
