Wedding Catering FAQ’s

  • When should I book my wedding caterer?
We recommend that wedding catering is booked a year in advance in order to ensure that you get the date you require.  Although we try and accommodate as many client requests as possible, sometimes it is not possible especially on peak dates in summer.  Curry Special do not service more than four events on one day, we believe in quality not quantity, and dates in our summer calendar get booked up very quickly indeed.
  • Will you provisionally hold a date for wedding catering?
We can provisionally hold dates at venues that we deal with for a period of one week which allows the client time to decide.  We cannot provisionally hold dates for catering, it is a strictly first come first serve basis and we will not jeopardise booked events for profit making purposes.
  • Do you discount for children?
Curry Special package prices are worked out on the number of covers served.  If a child is taking a seat then they are counted as a “cover”.
  • Do you take a deposit?
Without a deposit your event is not confirmed.  On receipt of the deposit, a contract between Curry Special and the client is drawn up and signed by both parties.
  • Do I need to sign a contract for my wedding catering?
Yes, it is important that you know our terms and conditions and also that you know exactly what is being provided to you in your package price.
  • Will the food be hot?
This is a very important issue especially with Indian weddings, the food has to be served piping hot.  Both our traditional and our new Crystal stand have bowls which conduct heat and also have tealight holders placed underneath to retain the food temperature.
  • Do you provide beverages as part of your wedding catering service?
As most of our venues do not charge corkage, our clients are free to purchase their beverages and we provide the staff to chill and serve drinks at the event.  However if you want beverages to be provided for you, this is possible at an extra charge.
  • Do you provide cutlery, crockery and table linens as part of your wedding catering service?
Most of our package prices include charges for the provision of cutlery and crockery and table linen, however should you require specific colours and patterns, these may incur an extra charge.
  • Do you have public liability insurance?
It is imperitive that your chosen wedding caterer has valid public liability insurance.  Curry Special Ltd has public liability to the value of £20 million.
